Owen McCusker:
Data Engineer/Scientist, Cloud Architect and Software Developer
I Love Working with Others Creating Solutions for Complex and Challenging Problems…
I am a Team builder, a software engineer, and data scientist/engineer. You can read about my story here.
In 2006-2009, as a thought leader in the network security industry, my Team introduced a highly disruptive, patented concept, and set of related technologies, called aggregate behavior analytics (CATCH 2009). It seeded new businesses and technologies, and new companies started emerging in 2012-2013 to better protect our nation’s infrastructure.
I bring unique approaches to my teams challenges leveraging a diverse set of skills: as a data science researcher establishing aggregate behavioral analytics, a software developer/architect creating distributed and embedded technologies, a project lead, a technical lead, an architect focused in Cloud DevOps, and also with roots as an analytic chemist and LIMS systems manager.
My passion is working with and creating dynamic and diversified teams developing next generation big fast data capabilities, reactive/agile development, event streaming and machine-learning platforms.
Thinking Outside the Box…
Over the years I had a chance to work with some amazing people and teams, and have drawn on those formative experiences providing simple solutions to challenging problems.
My work with network security research put in me in touch with researchers from NIH, Healthcare professionals in SE CT, and cyber researches from MIT and University of Memphis applying natural immunological concepts to threat detection.
Starting in 2009, I created some interesting models, and toured and lectured the US and abroad to talk about those concepts involving Aggregate Behavior Analytics. If you are in the network security business, in 2014 you will see a bunch of security companies start to integrate these concepts into their main stream products.
